Growing up!

Wow it has been such a long time since I last updated my blog, but I have been a veeeeerrrrry busy baby so I do have a good excuse!

Firstly, I now eat other food instead of just having booby! All of a sudden one day I saw what Mummy was eating and thought, I wouldn't mind having a bit of that myself. Then Gramps was drinking a glass of something orange and I really wanted some. He took it away from me which was a bit upsetting, but that said, I wouldn't share my booby with him so fair's fair. A little while later Mummy tried me with some stuff called baby rice which was nasty, so I wouldn't eat it. But then she gave me some stuff that was in a pouch and it was yummy scrummy in my tummy! I wanted more and more of it! Since then she's started to make me my own stuff, but it's not in pouches, just little pots. I really like pear and sweet potato, either together or on their own, but parsnips are nasty!! This is me having some food:



You can see I like it a lot. I think it had spinach in. I also have water from a cup sometimes:



So that's all nice. Another big change for me is now I sleep in a cot bed in my very own room! Mummy and I went away and I slept in a big bed there. When we got home no way was I going to go back to a crib so I kept Mummy awake all that night, and in the morning she told Daddy that I was moving into my own room so I can have space. I love it. If I wake up in the night I just turn so I'm lying in a different direction, so I never get bored! It's always good to see Mummy and Daddy in the morning though. I make sure to give them a big smile so they don't forget I'm there.

This weekend we all went to visit Granny and Gramps, and Auntie Judy and Uncle Ray. Kiwi stays at Grandma's because Gramps' cat is old and doesn't like big waggy dogs very much. I had so much fun there; Uncle Ray has a funny face and a big shiny head, and he made me laugh lots. Auntie Judy played with me and gave me a toy, and she gave me cuddles and even talked my language! Granny and Gramps were lovely as usual, and I had all 4 of them at my beck and call! I hope we go back soon. This is Gramps helping me with some melon:



That's most of what's been happening here. Daddy has been very busy recently because he has a big exam thing. I don't know what it is exactly but it means he sits at his computer a lot and pulls a frowny face. I try to help him by cooing encouragingly from time to time. I think it helps him though I can't be sure.

I still see lots of Freya, and we swim together most weeks. She is beginning to like it a bit more now which makes me happy, as I like going with her. She looks so cute in her little costume. I've learned how to splash water! Mummy and Daddy have been showing me for ages, so when I went swimming last week I splashed her full in the face! It was really funny but I don't think she liked it. Women!! In a few weeks she will be staying here for a bit whilst her Mummy has something done. I'm hoping Mummy says she can stay in my cot bed with me, but I don't think she'll be allowed somehow.

Right I have to go. Daddy is sorting out some food for him and Mummy to eat later, so I need to make sure he's doing it properly. I will write again really soon.

My first holiday

I am just back from my first family holiday, and we went to a place called Cornwall! It was a very long way to go; I heard Mummy and Daddy talking to each other and saying it was about 7 hours including a couple of stops, but I think it was really a week. I sat in my car seat and had a sleep, looked at my toes and looked at my whoozit on the seat's handle. We stopped a couple of times as Mummy needed a wee and I needed a boob fix to keep me going. Kiwi was in the boot and I could hear her panting and snoring!

When we got there Daddy was ever so busy unpacking everything while I cuddled Mummy, had booby, and looked round the place. We went for a walk to a place where there was so much water, it was overwhelming! It was whooshing on big hard things called rocks, and made a fun noise! That night was funny; Mummy took me up to bed and expecting to see my crib I slept in the carrycot of my new buggy on the windowsill next to Mummy's bed!!! I wasn't expecting that! I did end up in Mummy's bed during the night though which I was very pleased about. Here's me and Daddy having a lie in:



One day we went to the seaside. It was lovely; lots of sandy stuff and lots of water. I even had a little paddle but it was a bit too cold for me to swim in.



So Mummy and I sat in our little beach tent while Daddy went in the sea. He was so brave, he only wore shorts and not a wetsuit like everyone else was! I didn't want him to cuddle me when he got out until he had dried off and gotten all warm again. When he was dry he took me into the sea but it's ok because I didn't get wet. Phew!



One day was Daddy's birthday! I gave him a story book called "Where's My Cow?" because I think it would be nice if he reads it to me. He does good voices when he reads to me. That day we went on a long walk. I was in my buggy, and I had a little snooze because I was so comfy; I could hear the sea whooshing, Mummy and Daddy talking, Kiwi panting....it was so restful. There was one bit of the walk which was so bumpy that Mummy and Daddy had to carry my buggy over the bumpy bits. I pretended to be asleep because I was worried they would want me to help carry it if they knew I was awake! We went down a steep ramp to the sea, and Mummy let Daddy push it up and down, which I think was rather clever of her!



When we were down there Daddy taught Kiwi how to surf in the sea, and she was so clever that she didn't need a surf board; her whole body was a surf board! While they were doing that I had a cuddle with Mummy in my new sling, and even had a sleep. I was pretty cozy. Thankfully Kiwi didn't shake herself all over me or I would've got all cold and wet.



I had a really nice time in Cornwall, and the best bit is, when I got home, the next day I had a visit from Granny and Gramps! Now we are home, Mummy says she wants to start working her horse, Mizz, again, so that means lots more time at the stables so I get to see all the horsies and Alypoo, Beth, Lucie and the others lots!

Life as a water baby, friends, and my visit to my grandparents

It's been a busy 2 weeks for me, so much to see and do, hardly any time to sleep, although Mummy doesn't agree with that one!

Mummy and I went down to Nanny Noo and Grandad's house for the week, and boy was I spoiled rotten! I have my very own chair to sit on down there, a cot for when I'm bigger, and lots of toys. Every minute I was awake someone was entertaining me! It was great! This is me playing with Mummy in my chair:



There was also a very big donkey there that I became friends with. I was a bit worried that he might eat me at first, but he seemed friendly enough.



One day Mummy and Noo took me on lots of trains to see Uncle Mike in a busy busy place called London. I have never seen so many people! It was really hot so Mummy took my dungarees off and left me in my vest (I'm so glad she kept that on, imagine all those people seeing me in just a nappy!) Uncle Mike was wearing a nice suit which I had a little dribble on, but I don't think he noticed - or minded - too much!



The rest of the week was spent doing lots of fun things like playing, having cuddles, meeting Mummy's friend and her little boys, and going swimming. Now, swimming is my favouritest thing in the whole world (after Mummy, Daddy and boobies that is). I love it so much that every time I get out of water I cry sooooo hard. I have a bath every night, and although I'm not all that dirty, I think Mummy and Daddy know I wouldn't forgive them if I didn't get into water every day! I love to go on my back and kick my arms and legs around. This is me in the bath with Daddy:



One day Rachel came round to play with me and see Mummy and that was lots of fun. Except the bit where she showed Mummy how to settle me in my bed and not pick me up as soon as I cried a bit. That wasn't any fun at all! I went to a place where Mummy was shown how to properly massage me one day which was nice except the sky was leaking so we both got very wet. I've also been back the doctor place where I had my 'jections, and so far I've not had any more, so hopefully it was just a one off....

Needles, parties and massage!

What a long couple of weeks it has been for me. I don't know where to start.

Actually yes I do, because this has been niggling at me for the past couple of weeks! Mummy took me to the nice doctor place a couple of weeks ago which made me really happy as I always get such good cuddles there. I saw Rachel and Anna, and Julie was there too, but no Uncle Tim which did upset me a little bit but I did get some booby to cheer me up so it wasn't too much of a problem. Then some other lady took us into a little room, sat me on Mummy, and then did something terrible to me! She put something stingy in one of my legs, which made me whimper a bit, then as if that wasn't bad enough, she did it again to the other leg!!! OUCH!!!! Well that really got me cross so I cried really hard and let Mummy see I wasn't amused one bit! I did get lots of cuddles to make me feel better, and made the mistake of falling asleep, but as soon as I woke up I cried again just to let Mummy know I was still cross with her. She did make me a bed on the sofa with my quilt that she made me when we got home, so it wasn't quite so bad.



That night Nanny Noo and Grandad came and stayed for a couple of days. We played fun games like beating up Grandad and peekaboo, and I got to stay up late with Nanny Noo while Mummy got some sleep. We all went for long walks, although I was in my buggy, and had lots of fun. Daddy was at work so he wasn't there much which made me quite sad, but I was ok playing my games.

Since then I have been working really hard on my smiles. What do you think?





Last weekend I went swimming for the first time! It was lots of fun, whooshing through the water from Mummy to Daddy and back again. I did get a bit cold but since then I have been bought a wetsuit to keep me roasty toasty as Mummy calls it. I will be having swimming lessons very soon, but until then I am just going to swim with Mummy and sometimes Daddy, and practise very hard. I was ever so hungry and tired afterwards, I thought I could eat forever! I didn't get to sleep for the rest of the day though, because that evening we went to AJ's house for his daddy's birthday party.

The next day was the BEST! We went in the car to a really busy, noisy place that Mummy called the Baby Show, and I've been bought some new wheels!! I have to wait for someone to bring them to the house, but then they're mine, all mine! Apparently it means I can stay lying down for longer because it's bigger for me (I'm getting very tall you see), but the whole thing is much smaller than my old one, which I don't really understand to be honest. I can't wait though. I really hope it comes soon! That night we had another party next door with Gwennan, although Mummy and I were tired so we didn't stay very long.

Then the next day we went to see a lady who did funny stuff to my head. I don't really know what she was doing (Mummy calls it cranial osteopathy...?) but it felt ever so nice, and I went to sleep. Since then I have felt more relaxed and haven't cried as much and like to hve my little naps during the day. In fact, I think I'll go and get me some more booby then have a lovely long sleep.

Busy days

Well it's been a really busy week for me, so I haven't written my blog for a while.

Last weekend we went shopping to look at some buggies in the shops. Mummy said I am getting too big for my carrycot, but that I'm too little to face forwards, so she's looking at getting a different type. I really like the one she wants to get, so whenever she looks at me in my carrycot I make myself look as big as possible just to make sure she buys the good one!

After the shops we went to see my friend Mai. This is me and Mai on Daddy's lap:

Mummy and Daddy are getting me my own throne so I can rule them too! I like being King Ben!

Grandma came to see me on Monday while Mummy had a sleep. She played with me for a bit then got me to sleep, hard as I tried to stay awake! Mummy and Daddy say I don't sleep enough in the day, but there's so much fun to be had and playing to do, not to mention cuddles from all my adoring fans; how can a baby sleep when all that is on offer?!

Yesterday I went out with my friend Gwennan and her au pair Tania. Gwennan is a lot bigger than me, she is 18 months old! We had a race in our buggies and I won! Then we went to the park and Gwennan went on the swings whilst I chilled out in my buggy. I was working on how to ask her out; I like an older woman! Then we went for a walk and saw some ducks and gooseys in the lake. Daddy was seeing a tooth doctor so we went to meet him, then we went home and I screamed all the way until Mummy carried me.

Today we went to the nice doctor place and the nice doctor looked at me all over and put me on the weighing thing. Then all these ladies gave me lots and lots of cuddles, including the lady upstairs who Mummy calls Rachel. She might come and play with me sometime. I really like her.

Anyway I must go now. I've done a big poo in my nappy. I didn't do one for ages just to make Mummy worry a little bit, but it's all come out now.

Daddy's home tomorrow so we will listen to some music together.

Making new friends

Today I made a new friend called AJ. His mummy met my mummy at a food place in somewhere called Beeston. When I saw AJ I was very impressed; he is just the kind of baby I'd like to be when I'm a bit bigger. He had a cool hat and was wearing an England kit. I think he liked me because he reached for my hand...I do hope he becomes my friend. I was a bit worried when Mummy whipped her boobies out for me that he might steal them, but he seemed happy with his mummy's boobies so that was ok.

After the mummies had eaten their lunch we went to a big place that I heard Mummy call a Sure Start centre. It was so much fun! There were lots of other babies, although I was the smallest. There were soft squishy mats on the floor and lots of noisy toys. Then something strange happened. Mummy took off my socks and a lady started painting my feet! I wasn't sure if I liked it because it was a bit tickly and I didn't like my feet being held still, and it was very strange when they then put my feet on some paper. But it seemed to make Mummy very happy because she smiled at the paper and has even brought it home and put it on the fridge! Funny that my smelly old feet can make her so happy. After the foot episode some people took photos of us which I'm sure Mummy put them up to because she is always putting a camera in my face. I then made Mummy's day by holding a plastic ring. It's hardly a big thing but it made her very happy so I'm glad I did it. I even gave her a smile which made her even happier! That got me some more booby so I'll have to do it again.

The mummies then sang songs but I was bored by then so cried and Mummy took me out of the room. Finally it was all over and I could go home to have a sleep. I hope I see AJ again soon because he is a nice baby and I want him to be my friend.

Mummy says tomorrow is the weekend which means Daddy is home! Apparently we are going to that busy place full of shops to have my feet put in something else....what's so special about my hands and feet anyway?! The last time I went to the shops was with Uncle Mike which was lots of fun because I didn't have to go in the pram much; Uncle Mike carried me round the shops! He was funny because he was trying to make me smile, so I gave him my windy face which seemed to satisfy him.

Anyway, time for my bath and more booby.

Hello!

Hello everyone, my name is Benjamin and I'm 24 days old today! I wanted to give Mummy a special present for Mother's Day so I was born 2 weeks early. I think she liked the present! I live with Mummy and Daddy, a dog, 5 cats and a bunny rabbit. There is also a horse but she isn't allowed to live with us.

Today a lady came to visit us. Mummy said she's called a health visitor. She took all my clothes off and put me on the weighing thing, then she measured my head and how long I am. She was playing with my hips and I didn't have my nappy on, but I thought I better not wee on her as she was too nice. I'll save that for Mummy or Daddy later! When the lady talked to Mummy I lay on my jungle gym which was lots of fun.

Tomorrow Auntie Kira and someone called Dave are coming to see me, and Daddy's home from work so I'll get lots of cuddles and attention. I like Kira; she gives good cuddles and brought me lots of presents last time she came! I think I will have a little snooze now so I'm ready for tomorrow - after I've had me some booby that is!
